A three day workshop on satellite image analysis is held at the Tibet Policy Institute from 12-14 January 2019.
The workshop is led by Col. Vinayak Bhat (retd.), who is an independent researcher and commentator. He is a retired Indian army officer, an alumnus of NDA, Pune and a satellite imagery analyst for more than two decades.
The workshop is attended by the researchers of the Tibet Policy Institute and a staff from the Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration.
The workshop is aimed at introducing to researchers about various tools available for satellite image analysis and his analysis on key images he had studied over the decades.
On 14 January, 2019, he gave a presentation on Tracking China’s Gulags in Tibet. This talk was attended by some staff of the Central Tibetan Administration, researchers and a contingent from Tibetan media.
