Two researchers from the Tibet Policy Institute concluded their lecture tour to the Indian city of Kolkata.
Two researchers, Mr Tempa Gyaltsen and Dr Tenzin Desal started their Kolkata leg of their tour on 1 October, 2018.
In Kolkata, they gave presentations at three prestigious universities and a research centre.
On the 1 October, they visited the University of Calcutta and gave their presentations to the members of faculty and students of the political science department of the University. Prof Avipsu Halder moderated the session.
On 3 October, Prof Garima Dhabai hosted the researchers at the Presidency University and the researchers from the Tibet Policy Institute gave their presentations. This session was moderated by Prof Satyabrat Sinha.

On 4 October, the head of the Department of International Relations, Jadavpur University, Prof Omprakash Mishra gave the introductory remarks before the researchers of the Tibet Policy Institute. This was followed by presentation by the researchers of the Tibet Policy Institute. Prof Shibashis Chatterjee of the same department gave the concluding remarks at the end of the session.
On 5 October, the researchers held an interactive session with a group of academics and senior researchers with special interest in regional studies at a conference hall of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Culcutta. It was hosted by the Centre for East and North East Regional Studies (CENERS-K).
The TPI delegation visiting Calcutta was coordinated by Dr. Jigme Yeshe, assistant professor at the University of Calcutta and Mr. Tashi Phuntsok, assistant professor at Vidyasagar college in Kolkata.
Mr. Tempa Gyaltsen will later attend the Third International Conference of Mountains in the Changing World in Kathmandu, Nepal, which is to be held from 09-10 October.
